ABOUT EDUCATION CUTS IN SPAIN...

TIMELINE

We are studying history!!!

History is everything that happened in the past. We can understand why things happen in our world and use this information to make our lives better.
We can use historical sources to learn about history. They are objects that give us information about the past.
We can divide history into five main periods. You have investigated about it to make a timeline.
Here you are the links to your timelines.

THE LITTLE PRINCE- 70 YEARS!!

The Little Prince

by: Antoine de Saint-Exupery

                                                                           FROM :http://www.lepetitprince.com/70ans/

The year 2013 marks the 70th anniversary of The Little Prince.

The first time  that this novel was published was in the United States in April 6th, 1943, 70 years ago. Since then, the book, written and illustrated by the French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, began circulating and has become in time one of the best known novels, which has been translated into several languages.
Perhaps one of its famous line, spoken by the fox is:

IN FRENCH:
"On ne voit bien qu´avec le coeur. L´essentiel est invisible pour les yeux".

IN  ENGLISH:

"Here is my secret.  It's quite simple:
One sees clearly with the heart.
What is esssential is invisible to the eyes".

Now, you can watch different parts of the film:

HISTORY.- AND THE EARTH WAS CREATED...

Once Upon a Time… Man (French: Il était une fois… l'homme) is a French animated TV series from 1978 directed by Albert Barillé.
The series explains world history in a format designed for children. The action focuses around one group. The same familiar characters appear in all episodes as they deal with the problems of their time.
The series' opening and ending title sequences famously used Johann Sebastian Bach's piece Toccata and Fugue in D minor as the main title theme music.

The first episode is AND THE EARTH WAS CREATED...

You can watch it in Spanish, too!!

MAKE A TIMELINE

WHAT DO WE DO?

A timeline shows the order in which historical events happened. Follow the steps indicated below to make a timeline:

  1. Copy the timeline onto a piece of graph paper. Colour the five sections in different colours.

  1. Label the five sections with the following historical periods:
-          PREHISTORY (Paleolithic and Neolithic).
-          ANCIENT HISTORY.
-          THE MIDDLE AGES.
-          THE MODERN AGE.
-          THE CONTEMPORARY AGE.

  1. Write the following historical events in chronological order:

3000 000 BC              2500 000 BC           1000 000 BC              1000 BC

 3000 BC             476 AD           1492 AD             1789 AD

-          The discovery of America.
-          The invention of writing.
-    The French Revolution.
-          The appearance of the first human beings.
-          The end of the Roman Empire.
-          The appearance of fire.
-          The agriculture appears.

  1. Now it´s time for make a timeline using TIMERIME. You  have a good Spanish tutorial here:
